Join us for a set of participatory sound explorations including a performance with Structure Affliction, Ernest Maw’s Broken Promise Chorus, a performance by Manuel Joe Perez III with Nina Isabelle’s 2021 Psychic Self-Defense Sculpture for Destroying Giant Invisible Vampires, A Queer Space Network (QSN) space dance facilitated by Mx Bibi Med, and the 3rd iteration of UFO Conjuring!

Structure Affliction - 7:PM
Initiated by Manuel Joe Perez III, Structure Affliction is an ad hoc improvising collective that combines sound, movement, and visual art through performance. Everyone is welcome to join and perform with Structure Affliction. You are already a part of it.
The Broken Promise Chorus - 8:00pm

A chorus of affirmations, a posse of empowerment, a sound soup of celebration. Together, we the Chorus of Broken Promises will be ringing in what was, what will, and never be. We are a loosely structured, collaborative chorus to nurture the ache of promises broken but not forgotten, fulfilled but not fulfilling. We will release the expectations & weight of impossible standards, of things we thought we could do but really can’t, in communal resonance with one another, led by rotating conductors of promise.
Performance by Manuel Joe Perez - 8:30pm
Manuel Joe Perez III will perform with Nina Isabelle’s 2019 psychic self-defense sculpture- a giant wooden stake used to destroy large invisible vampires.
It’s Snowing in Outer Space! - 9:00pm
Mx Bibi Med will present an audio-visual performance-installation facilitating a Queer Space Network (QSN) dance party in outer space.
QSN is a collaborative media and performance space lab (in
development) that uses documentary and anti-colonial science fiction to create new imaginaries for human presence in space.
Mx Bibi Med is a multimedia installation artist, researcher, and curator. Bibi’s investigation provides a critical approach to the current developments of human expansion into outer space and the relationship between technology and the frontier. They interrogate these concepts through queer and anti-colonial lenses. Mx Bibi’s research interests include media hegemony, international laws on outer space, and the legal definition of ‘property.’ Mx Bibi Med is the founder of Queer Space Network and Pickled Press; and co-Editor of Fotofobia.
UFO Conjuring - 9:30
A participatory group vocalization where we hold hands and vocalize into the night sky for three minutes with the intention of conjuring observable phenomena including UFOs. This event is audio & video documented, archived, and available to review upon request.
